Resident in Counseling
Pronouns: She/Her
I am a queer, neuro-spicey Resident in Counseling, impassioned with providing a therapeutic environment that embodies safety, acceptance, and listening with intention.
As an advocate for social justice, I want my clients to know that no matter who they are and what their experiences have been, they deserve to feel safe, and that safe spaces are vital to healing. Bessel A. van der Kolk says, “being able to feel safe with other people is probably the most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives.” My desire is for every client to feel validated and supported in treatment. My sessions often involve my “co-counselor” Elly the elephant, a puppet that embraces the teachings of love, boundaries, and healing ooey gooey emotions.
